Can’t sign in to Flexile?

Go through these in order. Most sign-in problems in the After Effects panel are solved in the first two steps.

1. Sign in on flexile.io first

Sign in on the Flexile website with the same email address. If that works, your account is fine and the problem is in the panel: go on to step 2. If it does not work there either, reset your password. No account yet? The panel cannot create one, so create a free account first.

2. Use the email and method you signed up with

  • Signed up with Google? Click Sign in with Google in the panel. An account made with Google has no password, so email and password says “Login was not successful”. To add a password, click Forgot password? in the panel.
  • Signed up with email and password? Type the email address you signed up with and check the password. If the panel says “E-Mail is not confirmed”, open the link in the confirmation email first. No email? Sign in on flexile.io and it offers to send a new link.
  • Forgot your password? Click Forgot password? in the panel, or reset it on flexile.io.

3. Sign in with Google does not finish

  • Sign in with Google opens your default browser. Finish signing in there, then switch back to After Effects.
  • If you closed the browser tab, click Cancel in the panel and try again.
  • On Windows, allow Flexile through the firewall if it asks. It only listens on your own computer for the sign-in reply.

4. Update Flexile and restart After Effects

  1. Install the latest version from the download page, or accept the update the panel offers.
  2. Quit After Effects completely (Cmd + Q on macOS, File > Exit on Windows) and start it again. Closing the window is not enough, and an update loads only after a restart.
  3. Open Window > Extensions > Flexile for AE and sign in again.

Panel missing or blank? The installation guide covers a clean reinstall.

5. Check your firewall, VPN or proxy

“Network error. Please check your connection and try again.” means the panel could not reach Flexile. A firewall, VPN, proxy or company network filter must allow flexile.io and its subdomains. Try once with the VPN off or on another network to see whether that is the cause.

Still stuck?

Email support@flexile.io. Tell us your operating system, After Effects version, Flexile version, how you signed up (email or Google) and the exact error message. A screenshot of the panel helps.
