Installation

Flexile for After Effects is a CEP extension. After installation it appears under Window → Extensions → Flexile for AE.

Requirements: Adobe After Effects CC 2021 or later.

1. Download

Sign in to your dashboard and download the extension ZIP.

2. Unpack into the CEP extensions folder

Unzip the archive into the platform-specific location below. If the CEP or extensions folder doesn't exist, create it.

macOS

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/flexile_[version]/

Windows

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CEP\extensions\flexile_[version]\

Replace [version] with the version number from the downloaded ZIP (e.g. flexile_1.2.0). On Windows, replace <username> with your Windows account name.

The folder name itself is just a label — flexile_1.2.0, Flexile, or anything else will work. What matters is that the unzipped contents (CSXS/, app/, resources/, …) live directly inside that folder, not nested in an extra subfolder.

3. Open in After Effects

1. Launch Adobe After Effects.
2. Open Window → Extensions → Flexile for AE.

If the panel doesn't appear, fully quit and restart After Effects.

Troubleshooting

• Extension not listed under Window → Extensions — confirm that CSXS/manifest.xml sits directly inside your extension folder (not in a nested subfolder). On macOS, you may also need to allow the extension under System Settings → Privacy & Security.
• Blank panel on launch — open the folder in Finder / Explorer and verify that the resources/ subfolder is present alongside app/ and CSXS/. If anything is missing, re-extract the ZIP without nesting.
• "Path is not valid: …/resources/flexile_*.ffx" — the resources/ folder didn't make it into your install. Re-extract the ZIP, making sure resources/ ends up next to app/ and CSXS/. If it still happens after a clean reinstall, re-download the ZIP — your copy may be incomplete.
• Still stuck? Fully quit After Effects (Cmd/Ctrl + Q) before retrying — closing the window isn't enough; AE caches extensions per session.
